You need to be Courageous!

So, I have a new favorite movie. I didn't know how much I was going to love this movie, but it has truly touched me very much. If you have seen the movies Fire Proof and Facing the Giants you will LOVE the movie Courageous, it is funny, sad, has its high highs and its low lows. It is such a great lesson to be learned from this movie. It will truly warm your heart, and it is a very amazing spiritual movie.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
~ Joshua 24:15

So this is Christmas

So, Christmas is coming up very fast. Holy crap! It seems like only yesterday it was the 4th of July. Now that a lot of the birthdays are out of the way (only one more to go) we can now focus on one of the most special times of the year. Thankfully not only does my family get to celebrate Christmas, we also get to celebrate Chanukah. Being able to celebrate two wonderful holidays is an amazing experience. As we put up our CHRISTMAS TREE (not holiday tree, not pine tree, it's CHRISTMAS TREE damn it! and don't change it!!!!) we also put up ou r Menorah, it is a wonderful sight to see.

A lot of people become excited for Christmas for the presents and food etc., and I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited for those things also, but I find that now that we are going through an economic hardship and a lot of us can't have an elaborate Christmas that it is a good thing, not the whole everyone is struggling part, but it gives people the real understanding of what Christmas is all about. It is about first and foremost the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that is what we tend to forget, it isn't just a holiday about a big Jolly man coming down the chimney or possibly the back door if you don't have a chimney, it is about rejoicing for the greatest moment that has happened in history. But, Christmas is also about loving your family and enjoying one another. A lot of people don't have someone to call a family or somewhere to call a home to celebrate this holiday, and a lot of us take what we have for granted. We should all start looking at Christmas a lot more differently than we have, it is wonderful to receive gifts and give gifts, but there is no gift that is greater than celebrating the birth of our Lord and there is no greater gift than our family. We need to put the CHRIST back in CHRISTmas!!!

So I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, and yes I said Merry Christmas because it isn't Happy Holidays. It has been Merry Christmas for thousands and thousands of years so why change it because it might offend someone? What about me? It offends me that you want to take away MY Merry Christmas that I've been saying for 21 years. I am engaged to someone of a different religion and last time I checked it doesn't offend him when I turn to him and say Merry Christmas instead I get from him a Merry Christmas back!

Merry Christmas to all and to all I hope you have a wonderful day!

I put a spell on you....and now you're mine!!!

It's almost that special day that comes around this time of year every year. Halloween. I have to say I do love Halloween, it's not my OH EM GEE favorite holiday but it's fun and you get to dress up, eat a whole bunch of candy and scare the crap out of people. But I never really needed Halloween to scare people just ask my mother and fiance.

When this time rolls around, I love to watch all the scary movies they play, but there is one movie that is a classic one, besides Rocky Horror Picture Show. It would have to be HOCUS POCUS!!!! This movie has been my favorite movie since it came out in 1993.

I have to watch this movie every year at least 3-4 times a year. But, I happened to miss it a couple times this  year and I was beyond sad, to the point of almost crying... :'(.... so yesterday after leaving Friendly's with Josh we headed over to Newbury Comic's just to look around. As I was looking around for the first season of Jersey Shore for Josh since he is now hooked on this show, he asked the sales people if they had it and which they did and she surprised me by buying it for me. I was sooooooo happy that as soon as we got home I put it in so the whole family could watch it, and it was like being 3 years old again singing to the song I put a spell on you. I love that song so much!!!

I put a spell on you
And now you're mine
You can't stop the things I do
I ain't lyin'

It's been three hundred years
Right down to the day
Now the witch is back
And there's hell to pay

I put a spell on you
And now you're mine!

Hello, Salem!
My name's Winifred!
What's yours?

I put a spell on you
And now you're gone
(Gone gone gone, so long!)
My whammy fell on you
And it was strong
(So strong, so strong, so strong!)

Your wretched little lives
Have all been cursed
'Cause of all the witches working
I'm the worst

I put a spell on you
And now you're mine

(Watch out! Watch out! Watch out! Watch out!)

If you don't believe
You better get superstitious
Ask my sisters
"Ooh, she's vicious!"

I put a spell on you...
I put a spell on you...
Sisters!

Ah-say-into-pie
Oppa-maybe-uppen-die
Ah-say-into-pie
Oppa-maybe-uppen-die
In-kama-koray-ah-ma
In-kama-koray-ah-ma
Hey, hey, high, high
Say bye-bye!
Bye bye!

HEHE!!!!! Just listening to this song gives me the giggles. !!!

P.S. IF ANYONE WATCHES NCIS THE ONE WITH MARK HARMON, NOTICE THAT ZACHARY BINX IS SPECIAL AGENT TIMOTHY MCGEE FROM THE SHOW. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Hello darling...did you miss me?

WOW!

Talk about being forever! It's been a few months since I last blogged (shame on me). I've missed my blogging a lot, its just at times I have no idea what to even write. Well I have started my second semester of college at BCC, and it is going well, I actually really like the classes I am taking this semester, especially my Renaissance to Modern Art class. And I also didn't mind shelling out an arm and half a kidney for the book either. Now let's talk about more interesting things. How about the line up for t.v and all the different series that are on? CRAZINESS!! Let me tell you...there are not enough friggin' DVR's in the world so be able to record everything that is on. I love almost everything that is on from Hawaii 5-0 to Unforgettable, and Two and a Half Men. Of course I also love me some Real Housewives of whichever city is on, and also my guilty pleasure of the Jersey Shore. I don't know why I even like that show because it is such a train wreck of guideos and guidettes. OYE!! the crap they put on tv that becomes addicting.

Everything in my life has been pretty great. I am very blessed to have an amazing family, an amazing fiance, and amazing friends. I couldn't have asked for better people in my life, I am one lucky lucky girl!

Well folks... That is all I have to say for tonight, I am going to finish my Ben & Jerry's Chocolate trip cookie dough ice cream and watch my What What Happens Live on Bravo, which comes on channel 57 if you have comcast. Have a great night everyone and I will try to keep up with my blogging.

xoxo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG SISTER CRYSTAL!!!

On June 30, 1974 a pretty amazing person was born.

Yup yup, that would happen to be my big sister Crystal-Lynn Medeiros. A lot of my friends know about my sister and how cool she is. She does a lot to help a lot of people. I can remember all the cool things she use to do, especially when it came to working at Radio Disney(first AM 1450 then it went to AM 550), gotta love those days, of getting to work with all the different celebrities and all the different opportunities she had experienced. I'll also never forget Christmas of 1998, when she surprised my brother and me with a trip to Disney World, it was a pretty amazing experience especially since the fact I was only 8 years old and it was mine and my brother's first time ever going to Disney World. My sister has pretty much spoiled me for all of the 20 years I've been around. A lot of people would agree with me that she's probably one of the smartest and nicest people you will ever meet. There is a 16 year age difference between the both of us, and it never fails every time ever since I was little when I would go to the store with her or just go out in general everyone would ask "oh is that your daughter?" to which we would both reply with a sigh and a laugh/ eye roll "NO, we're just sisters." We always have a pretty awesome time together, whether it is grocery shopping and buying the whole store because we were hungry or going to the movies and her being embarrassed because I snuck in food, or just hanging out and talking or playing Wii together. She's the greatest sister a girl could ever ask for.

I Love you Crystal, and Happy "29th" Birthday, and in honor of your birthday here are pictures of your birthday cake I have made for you. It has kind of become tradition that I make her birthday cake, and I'm not gonna lie I have gotten a lot better at making and decorating them.

Chocolate cake with butter cream frosting and chocolate frosting decorations with the heart in the center that I made.

The birthday girl's cake that I made and designed

The cake with the Happy Birthday and star candles

ALSO IN HONOR OF YOUR BIRTHDAY, I DEDICATE THIS SONG TO YOU FROM OUR RADIO DISNEY DAYS TOGETHER!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRYSTAL...I LOVE YOU AND PLEASE DON'T HIT ME ONCE YOU LISTEN TO THE SONG...HAHA!!!

My favorite psalm from the Bible

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
- Psalm 23

What a great weekend is like with my family

FRIDAY

Friday for me was a normal Friday. Dad and I hung out, I did some laundry as well cleaning because I have really bad OCD and for some reason can't sit still. Then we watched our tv programs and this is how the line up goes:

7:00am - 8:00am - Cheyenne
8:00am - 9:00 am - Maverick
9:00am - 9:30am - LAWMAN!!
9:30am - 10:00am - I have no idea because I stopped paying attention
10:00am-12:00pm - 2 episodes of supernatural
12:00pm - 1:00pm - Deadliest Catch
1:00pm - 5:00pm - Orange County Choppers

by 4:30pm to about 4:45pm I leave the house because Crystal has returned home from work, and I go pick up my Joshie. After picking up Joshie we headed to Walmart and picked up a few things I needed to get. Then we returned home just in time to walk into the house and get to be greeted by two pretty amazing things, first would be my mommy...(HI MOMMY, I know you're reading), and also...okay everyone now brace yourselves...CHINESE FOOD!!!!!! That is what I happen to call amazing food. I of course happen to be the world's pickiest eater...well actually I'm probably runner up compared to my father, so my "chinese food" consists of: chicken fingers, french fries, white sticky rice, and beef teriyaki...I don't eat anything crazy, and if I can't pronounce it...do you really think I'm going to put it in my mouth...yeah...that would be a big NO!! We then watched a movie that I have purchased from Walmart in the $5.00 bin, it was actually good, I don't remember the name of it and it's like maybe 6ft away from me, but I don't feel so hot today so I'm not going to get up to read it...sorry guys. After that, it was time to turn in for the night. It was a great day and night.

SATURDAY

On Saturday I woke up and I can't remember if I made my father breakfast or my mother or sister did...man..I hate my senior moments. I had to bid farewell to my sister because she had to go to work up in Boston for her World Youth Day meeting, which is in Madrid this year....lucky her..except for the part that it is going to be hotter than hades. ( haha, too bad soo sad). So I hung with the momma dukes the daddy bob and the Joshie until my mommy had to run out and go to the meat market..I love me some giammolvo's here in New Bedford. She returned home and then Joshie and I had to leave to go to the bank and do a few errands. I got home just in time to see my mother cleaning, and I of course get that instantly sick feeling in my stomach and I'm praying to God, " oh please don't tell me she's gonna rearrange furniture, please please please...I'll be a good girl," thankfully she didn't she was just cleaning a little, and she left again to get some other errands done, as well and find something for my dad for father's day. So Josh, my father, and myself were just chilling at home together watching some t.v. My mommy then beeps the horn on car and Josh and I go to help her bring things in. She sits down and has something to eat finally because she has been on the go non stop, and then Josh and I go back out because I wanted to see if I could find a cute sundress, so we went to the mall, and that was an epic fail because seriously clothes at the mall are either overpriced or make you look like a hooch magooch. So, I went to my favorite store/ my life savor....WALLY WORLD!!! I found a cute magenta dress for only $12.00....I love when I score a deal. We come home, and I feed the doggies, and then miss Crystal finally comes home like a million hours later, and we all sit down and enjoy so yummytastic dinner, and just pretty much have a great relaxing night.

SUNDAY

Also happens to be Father's Day! I make my dad a pretty awesome breakfast fried egg and cheese sandwich with a nice glass of orange juice..mmm good, if I do say so myself. I then help him into getting into his chair to get his legs up, and he then puts on a pretty awesome movie that we've seen over a million and 2 times but I love it, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS...such a great movie ( FYI - Fast Five is the best one, can't wait until it comes out on DVD). We then give him his gifts, and in the words of my father, boy oh boy was he happy with his gifts and cards, but most importantly he was just beyond happy to be with his family because this was the first Father's Day together since he had his stroke almost a year come this August.
My mom asks my dad if he wants us to make him lunch or if he wants to go out for lunch and he opts for going out for lunch. (YAY). So we all get ready and we get into the cars and head out to Country Whip, my dad got his clam cakes with french fries malt vinegar and a root beer, and we all got hot dogs with fries and root beers also, soooo yummy I must say, I love that place so much. We were then headed off to go see my brother and his fiance and her daughter. We all sat in their backyard just enjoying eachother's company talking and laughing and eating this awesome cake my brother bought like so yummy never had it before, and forgot what it was called, haha. Kirstie, Joshie, and I played this weird backyard game, that was actually a lot of fun especially since I almost nailed my brother in the head with this like dart weight thing  (hehe, I know, I'm horrible) and then I also nailed the fence and then I don't understand why everyone move their chairs further away from us and where we were playing :( ...meanies.
we sat more and talked and laughed and then it was time to come home, the ride home was nice, my mother and I were sing and dancing to JLO's on the floor and my mother was fist pumping as we drove past my sister and Steve. HAHA, gotta love my mom! After we all got into the house, and numerous potty trips we all sat back and realized how truly lucky we are to have eachother and most important we realized how lucky we are to have my dad because of everything he's been through, we just can't imagine a single second of our lives without him.

I LOVE YOU DAD...I HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT FATHER'S DAY YESTERDAY!!!
